3 Months Out

This last week has been a good one, we've had lots of cool experiences this last week. Starting with New years! Me and my companion went over to a recent converts house and did karaoke with some of the sister missionaries. We looked like idiots but I've never really cared about that. We had a curfew of 8:00 so that kinda killed the fun, I actually didn't even stay up until midnight. I was so dog tired at 10:30 I said goodbye to 2019 early and woke up in 2020 refreshed and ready for the year. So happy new year to all. This is my blackout year, where I won't be home for any of 2020. Start marking the days down now.

This week we had our mission president come out with us to do some missionary work. Now you might be thinking, dang they are already getting In trouble so bad the mission president needs to babysit them. But this is not the case ðŸ˜† he told us he genuinely just wanted to hang out with us, and that office life can be stressful so he's out doing some mission work with us. President Ashcraft is such a spiritual giant, the dude knows how to do missionary work. Me met this 90 year old man who was out doing yard work. He says he goes to the gym 4 times a week, and we could have sworn this dude wasn't more than 65 years old. We helped him with his cleanup and then talked about the gospel. Prez kept this dude for like 25 minutes engaged in awesome conversation. He wasn't interested but he definitely felt the spirit and president gave him a card with his phone number on it. The guy told prez that he would never throw the card away, it had a picture of jesus on it so he promised to keep it. Another lady opened the door and said the classic "not interested" and began to close the door, but Krafty FINNESSED a 30 min contact out of it and we got a return appointment. He is a beast. We started asking lots of questions and making our contacts longer, were calling it the Krafty method. Its actually been super effective and made contacts way more fun. My mission president is a baller in all senses of the word.

Today for Pday the assistants came and picked us up to go to the beach. We played lots of spike ball in which I am a pro. Me and Elder Applegate (the departing AP) creamed everyone else and are the reigning champs. We built a big sand temple and are gonna play some basketball and ping pong the rest of the day. It's been a great Pday. Transfers are coming up, I dont know where I'm going but I think my comp might be the new AP. We will find out soon. Anyways, I'm off to play some games and enjoy my Pday! Love you all. Happy new year! -Elder Larkin
