DeLand of Promise

So this week has been awesome! Lots of success and some hard parts but its been great. So to start it's getting dark earlier which sucks for missionary work but were trying to hack the system by having dinner later in the evening and saving our study time until the night so we can utilize the daylight to the best of our ability. So the mission used to be a finding focused mission, so lots of traction lots of focus on finding people to teach. But since president Ashcraft came in 4 months ago, the focus has shifted from finding to baptizing, our mission killed it on finding but were lacking in helping people commit to follow the example of their savior Jesus Christ and be baptized. So we try our best to focus on our current people were teaching and do a lot less finding,  but we had an hour where a lesson fell through and we were trying to figure out what to do, it's dark, its late, we were at a loss for what we could do that would be effective, so we said a prayer and asked god, and we just kinda picked a family to visit and went. And on the way we got a prompting to switch people and go to this less active family. We knocked and they answered and let us In! We got to teach a lesson and helped them want to come back to church. Blessings. We also got the fattest referral of all time this week. A family of 7, 5 of whom are ready for baptism, the other 2 who aren't ready are 1: a newborn and 2:already a member. They moved in to our ward and they're so awesome! Were gonna set them on date to be baptized pretty soon, they've already taken all the discussions, we just have to Interview and set the time. And our investigator jack is coming to church and we asked him if he'd commit to being baptized and he said yes! He's so solid in the bible and he reads the book of Mormon everyday, he's a spiritual giant without the gift of the holy ghost. And 2 of our other investigators are praying about a date right now, and one more named Isabella. So 9 all together in the next couple weeks. Plus 1 more that the sisters are teaching that we're gonna get to baptize but I never taught him so I don't count it. So Lots of success!
We have a meal at a members house every single night this month. So I've also been working out every night. To make sure I don't get chunky. We do a full blown workout every P-day with a member, and he tried to kill us. Its intense! But helpful. Anyways I'm off to enjoy my P-Day!

Catch ya next week- Elder Larkin

P.S- we called 911 for a dude have a seizure and one of our investigators went to jail before she could get to church (driving without a license and resisting arrest)
